Spindle Seal and Bearing Kit, Heavy Duty, Two Seal Design, Dana 60, DAN700014-HD

This is not your Father’s spindle bearing kit!  The HD version has a lipped seal with a spring; not the flimsy “V” seal typically found in spindle bearing kits.  Those flimsy seals work ok for water from road splash and rain.  Ever done a creek crossing?  Maybe some mud bogging?  Well as soon as you get the water higher than the spindle hole, that crap “V” seal doesn’t hold back, the water goes down the spindle tube, ends up in the bearings, and shortly thereafter your wheel falls off (UNLESS you do regular maintenance ;).  The seal in the HD version has a spring like a normal seal, seals tight as a frog to the stub shaft, and prevents intrusion into the system. 

You also won’t need the slinger (metal disc pressed onto the stub shaft) with this system.  The bellows seal included in this kit has a metal ring integrated with.  Just press it onto the stub with two thumbs, and you’re done.

The spindle bearing is the same unit you find in standard Dana spindle bearing kits.  The rounded side of the bearing goes into the spindle first, and the flat side is used with the tool to press it in.
