A wine that started as a varietal Garnacha Blanca, the 2020 La Loma & Los Santos is a blend of around 60% Macabeo with 40% Garnacha Blanca from 1.7 hectares of roughly 50-year-old vines in the villages of Épila (La Loma, Garnacha Blanca at 480 meters in altitude) and Alpartir (Los Santos, Macabeo at 610 meters) on slate and limestone soils. It fermented with indigenous yeasts in concrete and was kept with the lees in 500- and 900-liter oak barrels for 12 months. The warmer 2020 delivered a very aromatic and showy wine that has more notes of pollen, beeswax and a balsamic touch and is beautifully textured with chalky grip. 3,052 bottles were filled in March 2022.
