IAG and Exedy have teamed up to develop the specialized IAG Spec Exedy Triple Disc Clutch. This specially designed clutch was engineered for high-powered 2004-2021 Subaru STIs with MODIFIED 6 speed (T56 / 26 spline) manual transmissions. While this clutch is suitable for street use, it can manage an astounding 923 ft/lbs of torque, ideal for track sessions, drag races, or just straight-up aggressive driving. This torque rating is over 150 ft/lbs higher than the standard FM023SB Exedy triple disc clutch. The IAG Spec Exedy Triple Disc Clutch is the best of both worlds, providing the perfect balance between street functionality and the capacity to stand up to high-power modified engines.

FOR USE WITH MODIFIED TRANSMISSIONS ONLY

The IAG Spec Exedy Triple Disc Clutch is designed for use with 2004-2021 Subaru STIs with MODIFIED 6 speed (T56 / 26 spline) manual transmissions only. This type of input shaft can be found in automotive racing gearboxes like the Pfitzner Performance Gearbox (PPG) dogbox. This clutch kit will not fit the OEM Subaru STI 24 spline input shaft.

TRIPLE DISC DESIGN

Engines with significant power upgrades require a more powerful clutch that can take on considerably higher torque and heat levels in comparison to the OEM version. The three-disc design in the IAG Spec Exedy Triple Disc Clutch effectively triples the overall grip and increases power transfer efficiency without slipping. With three discs to share in the torque load and heat distribution, excessive heat issues that can lead to clutch fade and reduced performance are eliminated. **Please be aware that some level of “rattling” noise is expected when the clutch is depressed or the vehicle is in neutral.

CERAMETALLIC DISC COMPOSITION

The IAG Spec Exedy Triple Disc Clutch kit uses cerametallic clutch discs that are designed to endure the demands of performance driving, surpassing the capabilities of traditional organic clutch discs. While organic clutch discs can manage some spirited driving, they are prone to overheating. Cerametallic discs are engineered to absorb higher levels of heat, making them ideal for racing situations where repeated engagement and disengagement can create exceedingly high temperatures.

PULL-TYPE THROWOUT BEARING

IAG’s Spec Exedy Triple Disc Clutch incorporates the use of the OEM Subaru STI pull-type throwout bearing and slave cylinder. STI models come equipped with the pull-type slave cylinder from the factory, so upgrading to a multi-disc clutch generally means that you also have to convert to a push-style slave cylinder. The IAG clutch kit does not require converting to a push-style slave cylinder. The clutch kit also includes the throwout bearing and pilot bearing, unlike the standard Exedy FM023SB clutch.

We have rigorously tested this clutch in our record setting Subaru VA chassis STI drag car. This clutch has lasted an entire season with plenty of life left while supporting multiple 8 second passes. With a linear clutch pedal feel that makes drag launches easy, and the ability to hold significant power, we’re confident that this is the best performance clutch ever offered for the Subaru STI.

COMPATIBLE WITH T56 / 26 SPLINE INPUT SHAFT

The IAG Spec Exedy Triple Disc Clutch is only compatible with 6-speed manual transmission Subarus that have been upgraded to a T56 / 26 spline input shaft. If you’re curious about the T56 input shaft, the PPG V2 1st-4th Drag Gear Set is a solid option. This kit includes the strong T56 shaft that's able to take on significantly increased torque and power while handling the rigorous demands of aggressive driving.

**IMPORTANT-This clutch kit will NOT WORK with the OEM Subaru STI input shaft. Designed to fit MODIFIED 6 Speed Manual Transmission with T56 / 26 Spline Input Shaft from 2004-2021 Subaru STI. *This type of input shaft can be found in automotive racing gearboxes like the Pfitzner Performance Gearbox (PPG) dogbox.
