In 2015, Hermès bestowed its signature Birkin bag with the ultimate treatment, incorporating the House's recent updates to create the Sac Birkin Sellier, a seamless blend of history and modernity. This minimalist classic, in production for 35 years, is available in 30cm and features a pared-down design. In 2020, the maison's master craftsmen refined the design further, releasing limited editions of 25cm and 30cm Sellier Birkins. This store-fresh piece is one such example, and unlike its predecessor, the current Sellier Birkins boast fully lined interiors with all the iconic pockets we've come to appreciate.

The leather's name, "Monsieur," harks back to history, as it was the title given to the French king's younger brother during the Ancien Regime. Introduced in 2018, Monsieur calfskin is one of Hermès' more recent offerings. Bearing similarities to the renowned "king of leathers," Box calfskin, Monsieur calfskin features a smooth grain and a subtle satiny finish that becomes more pronounced in frequently-handled areas over time. This leather is relatively rigid, maintains its shape well, and exhibits a rich appearance that only improves with age.
