Sometimes after inspection your Honda cylinder head will need some replacement valve guides. Normally the exhaust valve guides on your Honda cylinder head will wear out faster than your inlet valve guides. Generally we prefer to replace all 16 valve guides once the exhaust valve guides are worn as then there will be no future issues.

Characteristics of worn valve guides are list below - 

Failed or bad result on a cylinder leak down test
Poor compression or 'burbling' on idle 
Poor engine performance in general

In our workshop we only replace valve guides on cylinder heads which we are assembling , this is to ensure the quality of the complete cylinder head before returning it to the customer and offer the very best result for our customers.
