It is always such a joy to find pieces of true haute couture, especially from a designer like Cardin who's innovation in the realm of couture was always something to admire.
This amazing little 2 piece ensemble consists of a dress and jacket of pure teal silk, textured with graceful waves. The dress is a seemingly simple sheath, yet it is filled with complexity. The darts down the side of the bust are so graceful giving the dress a slightly fitted look. The dress comes together at the shoulders in tiny points, and the open back tapers in a perfect V to show a bit of skin. The jacket is equally amazing. Its a long oval with seams at the ends to make arm holes, the neck/back are left open. It falls perfectly over the shoulders, and creates a bubble effect in the back. The cuffs are adorned with loops of iridescent red sequins that hang loose in 2 rows. Its just a little touch of shimmer on a supremely crafted ensemble. The dress is lined in silk.
