All of our plants are grown outdoors in nature and are exposed to the natural elements. Sometimes this means a leaf could have been chewed here and there or have a blemish or two – but we do our best to send the best plants we can on every order.

Monstera plants are gorgeous and relatively easy to care for! Here's a basic guide:

1. Light: Monstera plants prefer bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch their leaves. They can tolerate low light conditions, but they won't grow as vigorously.

2. Watering: Water your Monstera when the top few centimetres of soil is dry. Ensure proper drainage in the pot to prevent waterlogging, which can lead to root rot. In winter, reduce watering frequency as the plant's growth slows down.

3. Humidity: Monstera plants love humidity. You can increase humidity by misting the leaves regularly, placing a humidifier nearby, or setting the pot on a tray filled with pebbles and water.

4. Temperature: They thrive in average to warm temperatures, ideally between 18-29°C. Protect them from drafts and sudden temperature changes.

5. Soil: Use well-draining, aerated soil mix. A mix of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark works well. Repotting may be necessary every 1-2 years as the plant grows.

6. Support: Monstera plants are climbers, so they benefit from some support. You can provide a moss pole or trellis for the plant to climb.

7. Pruning: Regular pruning can help maintain a tidy appearance and encourage bushier growth. Trim yellowing or dead leaves, as well as any leggy stems.

8. Fertilizing: During the growing season (spring and summer), feed your Monstera with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer every 4-6 weeks. Reduce or stop fertilizing in the fall and winter when growth slows down.

9. Pests: Keep an eye out for common pests like spider mites, mealybugs, and aphids. If you notice any infestation, treat it promptly with insecticidal soap or neem oil.
