Instruction
Prepare the Rice
Rinse the sticky rice by draining the water 2-3 times to clean it thoroughly.
Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes. After soaking, check if the rice is ready by crushing a grain—if it crushes easily, it’s good to go.
Dry the Rice
Spread the soaked rice evenly on a tray and dry it under the sun for 1 hour until it’s no longer wet.
Pound the Rice
Once dried, pound the rice to make it into a fine, slightly coarse texture.
Season the Rice
Add powdered sugar to taste. Optionally, a pinch of salt can also be added for balance
Form the Dough
Gradually add warm water to the rice mixture and knead it until it forms a smooth, sticky dough.
Prepare for Frying
Dip small portions of the dough in oil to prevent sticking.
Fry the Dough
Heat oil in a pan. Once hot, place the dough portions into the oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
Serve
Serve this delicious Naga sticky rice snack warm, accompanied by tea or juice.
