For sale here is a nice little 4wt bamboo rod made by Steve Claar. Mr. Claar is very active in the Catskill fly fishing community and recently donated two rods to the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum (CFFCM). This is the first one we will be listing. Proceeds will directly benefit the CFFCM. Steve hand splits and planes his Tonkin cane and also machines his own duronze ferrules and the cap and ring reel seat hardware. This rod is based on a Paul Young Midge taper at 6'3". Made as a one-tip rod. Parabolic and medium fast action. The grip and reel seat spacer are turned from curly maple, adding a very nice touch. Agate stripping guide. Bright guides and tip top. The rod and grip are both nicely finished with helmsman spar. The rod weighs 3 3/8 oz with a slightly lighter tip than the other Claar rod listed here. Comes with original bag and a PVC screwtop tube. You will not be disappointed!
