For sale here is a Payne Model 202 bamboo rod in excellent + condition. 8' 3/2 for a 5 weight line (some may prefer it with a 6 weight line). The rod weighs 4 3/4 oz. The 15/64 and 10/64 ferrules fit together very well as one would expect. Size 4/64 tip tops. Silky smooth medium action. "Sold by Abercrombie & Fitch Co." die stamp on the reel seat. The rod is wrapped brown with gold edges. Western-style grip. The reel seat is uplocking over a spanish cedar insert. At some point in its life, the wraps received an over-varnish (very nicely executed). One of the tips is a replacement by the Leonard Rod Co. and is a perfect match with the exception of the node placement being a bit different (3-up node pattern of course). Original hang tag, bag and tube included.
