PC-550SC is a single-component, water-catalyzed polyurethane polyurea, liquid-applied elastomeric waterproofing base membrane. INCLUDES CATALYST.

 PC-550SC is a single-component, liquid-applied, elastomeric base membrane used primarily for waterproofing. It is formulated with a polyurethane-polyurea blend and catalyzed by water, making it suitable for pedestrian and vehicular traffic surfaces including concrete decks, ship decks, helipads, and areas under tile.

 This material acts as a base membrane within a broader Polycoat system. It is typically used with Polyprime U as a primer when re-coating after 24 hours and may be used with topcoats or wear coats as part of Polycoat waterproofing and traffic systems. Aggregates such as 14–30 mesh rubber granules or sand may be broadcast into the wet membrane for skid resistance and increased durability.

 Ideal for concrete, masonry, metal, plywood, and ship decks. Typical application areas include parking decks, pedestrian membranes, helicopter pads, and as a waterproofing base beneath tile installations.

 PC-550SC must be mixed mechanically at slow speed with water at a 4:1 ratio (4 parts PC-550SC to 1 part water, or 1 quart water per gallon of resin) and applied using a squeegee or notched trowel. A roller may be used with care to avoid air entrapment. The material should be applied continuously to avoid streaks or seams. Coverage is 1 gallon per 100 square feet, delivering a dry film thickness of 15 ± 2 mils. When broadcasting rubber granules, use approximately 10–20 lbs per 100 sqft, depending on the application.

·       Primer: Surfaces such as concrete, metal, and old plywood must be primed. Polyprime U is recommended when recoating after 24 hours.

·       Pot Life and Cure: Begins to gel in 20–30 minutes; dry to touch in 4–6 hours; recoat window is up to 24 hours (reprime if exceeded).

·       Temperature & Humidity: Best applied at 75°F (24°C) and 50% relative humidity. Do not apply in high humidity or on damp substrates.

·       UV Stability: Not UV stable – must be topcoated or protected in exposed applications.

·       Thickness Limits: Can be applied at any thickness per project needs, but each coat is targeted for 15 ± 2 mils dry film.

·       Storage & Shelf Life: Store between 60–95°F (15–35°C). Shelf life is 1 year in sealed containers.

·       VOC Content: <0.61 lb/gal (74 g/l), compliant with low-VOC regulations.

·       Warnings: Contains isocyanates and solvents. Avoid moisture penetration which may cause cloudiness. Open containers must be used promptly and should not be diluted.
