Sourced from ungrafted vines in the Onkel Peter parcel of the Auf Hüttkopp place-name (lieu-dit), the 2018 Niedermenniger Herrenberg Riesling Spätlese feinherb (AP 04) is deep, fine, complex and terribly mineral on the ripe and concentrated nose. Lush and dense on the palate, with cumquat and peach skin flavors, this is a round and complex, beautifully balanced and lingering Riesling with a lush, aromatic, super precise and grippy finish. This is beautifully balanced and complex, a gorgeous wine that already tastes wonderful. A great wine in perfect balance. Tasted in June 2019.
