ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Vishu Rita Krocha is a poet, journalist and author from Nagaland. She has authored three collections of poetry, A Bucket of Rain (2011), Yearnings (2019), and from the broken earth (2021) besides co-authoring several other books. Her short stories titled 'Cut off' and 'A Grandmother's Tale' were published in the Zubaan anthologies - The Many That I Am and Homeward respectively while her short story, 'The Son of a Gaon Bura' appeared in Prose writings from the North East published by Sahitya Akademi. Her latest work titled, "Death riturals: An Insight into the Naga Ancestral Religion" appeared in the Routeledge Publication Death and Dying in Northeast India: Indigeneety and Afterlife that was published in the year 2023. She is also a recipient of the Kohima Press Club Impact Journalism Award 2022 and a National Foundation for India (NFI) Media Fellow, 2021. Her works have been published by the Hindu, The Indian Express, The Wire and Scroll.in, among others and she currently also writes for The Morung Express. IN 2021, She was also part of the first cohort fo the US Consulate General Kolkata-led AWE (Academy for Women Entrepreneurs) Program in India
