The Kishu Mandarin is a semi-dwarf evergreen tree, typically growing 10-15 feet tall in the ground and 7-8 feet tall in a pot (semi-dwarfs about 1/2 to 2/3 that size). It is known for its sweet, seedless, walnut-sized fruit. The fruit is small, somewhat oblate, depressed at both ends, orange-colored, and glossy. The flesh is firm, meaty, and pleasantly sweet. It ripens mid-season, typically between November and January. The Kishu Mandarin is seedless, although occasional seeds can occur. It is relatively cold hardy, able to tolerate temperatures down to around 32¡F, but thrives best in warmer regions. It is best suited for zones 8Ð11. It is self-pollinating, though adding another tree can increase fruit production.
