Installation Guidelines

• Precision Cutting: Because this is a mortise lock, it requires a precise rectangular cutout in the edge of the door. Using a template or a mortising jig is highly recommended to ensure the handle spindles align perfectly with the lock body.

• Strike Plate Alignment: Ensure the strike plate on the door frame is exactly centered with the latch bolt. In a marine environment, hulls can flex, so leaving a tiny bit of "play" in the strike plate can prevent the door from jamming.

• Lubrication: A small drop of PTFE-based lubricant on the latch bolt and internal spring once a season will keep the action smooth and prevent "sticky" handles.
