Like a girl version of Sigur Rós! Briana Marella, 25 years old (as of 2015) from Seattle, Washington, releases her second album and first since moving to the label, "All Around Us"! Produced by Alex Sommers, musician and lover of Sigur Rós frontman Yoncey! The album features a high, light, girlish voice with no weight, a sparkling, joyful, spontaneous sound, and emotionally powerful lyrics. The lyrics are full of emotion and power. The first encounter with producer Alex Sommers, who brought out the best in her talent, began when Scott Alario, an artist she met in Rhode Island on her first tour in 2012, played her demo to Alex, who then introduced her to the musician, and the two became friends. She received an email from Alex on December 23rd, the exact date of the Mayan prophecy of the destruction of mankind. They then spent the years in Iceland to make the recording happen. The lead single, "Surrender," is the very embodiment of the collaboration on this album.
